Terms & Conditions Please read these terms and conditions before enrolling your child. By signing the registration form and enrolling your child in our classes, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Section 1 – Registration & Fee Payment Complete the registration form before joining, which is available on our website at www.whiteswandanceacademy.co.uk on the registration page. Unfortunately, we cannot accept new students without a completed registration form. Please ensure your contact details are up to date and provide two emergency contacts. Fees are payable in advance for a block of 6 or 7 classes. You will receive an email before the start of the term with the amount due and online payment details. Failure to pay means that you or your child cannot participate in the class, and your place may be forfeited. No refunds are given for missed classes. If classes are cancelled due to COVID-19, they will continue online via Zoom or video. If the regular teacher is unavailable, we will strive to provide a substitute teacher. Section 2 - Class Timing & Management Classes are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long. Please arrive on time and leave promptly to facilitate smooth changeovers. Participants should be ready to start the class on time and leave promptly afterwards. No outside shoes or coats are allowed in the classroom; only personal bags and water bottles. Students may use the coat pegs in the lobby and use the church toilets for changing if necessary. Do not change in the lobby, church, or dance studio to comply with safeguarding regulations. Parents and students should wait quietly outside the dance space until invited in by the class teacher. The Church allows waiting in the lobby area, but please keep the space tidy. For a child’s first class, parents are allowed to stay for a settling-in period. Section 3 - Class Conduct Parents are generally not allowed to watch weekly classes except under exceptional circumstances discussed with the teacher beforehand (except for the Mummy and toddler class). Occasionally, parents are invited to attend ‘watch week’ at the teacher’s discretion. Students must show respectful behaviour towards teachers, helpers, and fellow students. For safety reasons, no food is allowed in the dance studio, and chewing gum is prohibited. A named water bottle is allowed. Students are responsible for their own property and bring items at their own risk. Mobile phones must be kept in students' personal bags and switched off. Adults should keep their phones on silent mode. If urgent calls are expected, inform the teacher. Students may not leave the studio during class without the teacher’s permission. Registered students must wear uniforms to class with hair secured away from the face. Ballet buns are preferred. Small stud earrings are acceptable; otherwise, no jewellery for safety reasons. Section 4 - Responsibilities White Swan Dance Academy is not liable for the loss or damage to personal property. Students bring items at their own risk. Parents/Guardians of toddlers and 3-4 year olds must remain on the premises during classes. If you need to leave, another adult must take responsibility. For children 6 years and over, if you decide your child can arrive or leave classes unaccompanied, discuss this with Miss Mandy. Additional steps may be necessary to support and safeguard Special Educational Needs children, including the presence of a parent or named guardian and possibly conducting a risk assessment. If students are consistently disruptive, a teacher-student behavioural agreement may be introduced. Dance teachers cannot assist children in the bathroom. Update registration forms if there are changes in medical conditions or emergency contact details. Inform teachers if someone other than known parents will be collecting your child. Section 5 - Miscellaneous The school timetable may be revised at any time. Dance is a physical activity with inherent risks. Participants take part in White Swan Dance Academy classes and events at their own risk. Photographs and videos of students may be used for promotional purposes and on social media by White Swan Dance Academy. If you do not consent, please email us at enquiries@whiteswandanceacademy.com. A hands-on approach is sometimes necessary for the correction of technique but will adhere to the guidelines for teaching classical dance. Section 6 - Further Information RAD graded classes follow the syllabus and may be conducted in mixed ability groups. Other classes are designed to be fit for purpose. For all other matters, including lesson times and uniforms, email us at enquiries@whiteswandanceacademy.com.
