Please
read
these
terms
and
conditions
before
enrolling
your
child.
By
signing
the
registration
form and enrolling your child in our classes, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Section 1 – Registration & Fee Payment
Complete
the
registration
form
before
joining,
which
is
available
on
our
website
at
www.whiteswandanceacademy.co.uk
on
the
registration
page.
Unfortunately,
we
cannot
accept
new
students
without
a
completed
registration
form.
Please
ensure
your
contact
details
are
up
to
date and provide two emergency contacts.
Fees
are
payable
in
advance
for
a
block
of
6
or
7
classes.
You
will
receive
an
email
before
the
start of the term with the amount due and online payment details.
Failure
to
pay
means
that
you
or
your
child
cannot
participate
in
the
class,
and
your
place
may
be forfeited.
No refunds are given for missed classes.
If classes are cancelled due to COVID-19, they will continue online via Zoom or video.
If the regular teacher is unavailable, we will strive to provide a substitute teacher.
Section 2 - Class Timing & Management
Classes
are
30,
45,
or
60
minutes
long.
Please
arrive
on
time
and
leave
promptly
to
facilitate
smooth changeovers.
Participants
should
be
ready
to
start
the
class
on
time
and
leave
promptly
afterwards.
No
outside
shoes
or
coats
are
allowed
in
the
classroom;
only
personal
bags
and
water
bottles.
Students
may
use
the
coat
pegs
in
the
lobby
and
use
the
church
toilets
for
changing
if
necessary.
Do
not
change
in the lobby, church, or dance studio to comply with safeguarding regulations.
Parents
and
students
should
wait
quietly
outside
the
dance
space
until
invited
in
by
the
class
teacher. The Church allows waiting in the lobby area, but please keep the space tidy.
For a child’s first class, parents are allowed to stay for a settling-in period.
Section 3 - Class Conduct
Parents
are
generally
not
allowed
to
watch
weekly
classes
except
under
exceptional
circumstances discussed with the teacher beforehand (except for the Mummy and toddler class).
Occasionally, parents are invited to attend ‘watch week’ at the teacher’s discretion.
Students must show respectful behaviour towards teachers, helpers, and fellow students.
For
safety
reasons,
no
food
is
allowed
in
the
dance
studio,
and
chewing
gum
is
prohibited.
A
named water bottle is allowed.
Students are responsible for their own property and bring items at their own risk.
Mobile
phones
must
be
kept
in
students'
personal
bags
and
switched
off.
Adults
should
keep
their phones on silent mode. If urgent calls are expected, inform the teacher.
Students may not leave the studio during class without the teacher’s permission.
Registered
students
must
wear
uniforms
to
class
with
hair
secured
away
from
the
face.
Ballet
buns
are
preferred.
Small
stud
earrings
are
acceptable;
otherwise,
no
jewellery
for
safety
reasons.
Section 4 - Responsibilities
White
Swan
Dance
Academy
is
not
liable
for
the
loss
or
damage
to
personal
property.
Students
bring items at their own risk.
Parents/Guardians
of
toddlers
and
3-4
year
olds
must
remain
on
the
premises
during
classes.
If
you need to leave, another adult must take responsibility.
For
children
6
years
and
over,
if
you
decide
your
child
can
arrive
or
leave
classes
unaccompanied, discuss this with Miss Mandy.
Additional
steps
may
be
necessary
to
support
and
safeguard
Special
Educational
Needs
children,
including the presence of a parent or named guardian and possibly conducting a risk assessment.
If
students
are
consistently
disruptive,
a
teacher-student
behavioural
agreement
may
be
introduced.
Dance teachers cannot assist children in the bathroom.
Update
registration
forms
if
there
are
changes
in
medical
conditions
or
emergency
contact
details.
Inform teachers if someone other than known parents will be collecting your child.
Section 5 - Miscellaneous
The school timetable may be revised at any time.
Dance
is
a
physical
activity
with
inherent
risks.
Participants
take
part
in
White
Swan
Dance
Academy classes and events at their own risk.
Photographs and videos of students may be used for promotional purposes and on social media
by White Swan Dance Academy. If you do not consent, please email us at
enquiries@whiteswandanceacademy.com.
A
hands-on
approach
is
sometimes
necessary
for
the
correction
of
technique
but
will
adhere
to
the guidelines for teaching classical dance.
Section 6 - Further Information
RAD
graded
classes
follow
the
syllabus
and
may
be
conducted
in
mixed
ability
groups.
Other
classes are designed to be fit for purpose.
